I started writing a haiku a day in July 2011 as a journaling project - a creative challenge that would also chronicle the ordinary moments of life. It has been a great discipline for encouraging me to think about the aspect of each day that stands out, and how to craft that into three lines of five, seven and five syllables.
Summer draws us west
To Tofino's wild ocean
We are 15 strong
(Note: Wild-waves graphic was selected by my grandson Zachary, age 11, who is an early riser and has been helping me with my haiku project while on our family holiday in Tofino)
