I started writing a haiku a day in July 2011 as a journaling project - a creative challenge that would also chronicle the ordinary moments of life. It has been a great discipline for encouraging me to think about the aspect of each day that stands out, and how to craft that into three lines of five, seven and five syllables.
June 21 - Encouraged By Owen's Enthusiasm, I Turn Right Down The Poorly Marked Public Beach Entrance On Our Morning Walk And Scramble Down To A Place I've Never Been Before
