I started writing a haiku a day in July 2011 as a journaling project - a creative challenge that would also chronicle the ordinary moments of life. It has been a great discipline for encouraging me to think about the aspect of each day that stands out, and how to craft that into three lines of five, seven and five syllables.
July 31 - When Checkout Time Is 11 AM, You Get Moving On Early, Though The Upside Is That I Got In A Good Sun Session In The Afternoon At The Gorge Rocks
And we're gone again
Boat deflated, food packed up
Onward to Vic West
