I started writing a haiku a day in July 2011 as a journaling project - a creative challenge that would also chronicle the ordinary moments of life. It has been a great discipline for encouraging me to think about the aspect of each day that stands out, and how to craft that into three lines of five, seven and five syllables.
Sept 25 - One Of Those Days That's Both Fun And Awful, In Which I Stay Up Very Late Worrying And Then Have A Terrible Sleep Next To My Restless Little Companion
Wee one sleeps over
Oldest one is in crisis
I am overwhelmed
