I started writing a haiku a day in July 2011 as a journaling project - a creative challenge that would also chronicle the ordinary moments of life. It has been a great discipline for encouraging me to think about the aspect of each day that stands out, and how to craft that into three lines of five, seven and five syllables.
July 14 - No Better Motivator Than A Rigid Line In The Sand After Which You Will Be 1. Homeless; and 2. On Holidays For Three Weeks With Only Camping Equipment To Keep You From The Wolves
Monday's deadline looms
Though tension gives me focus
Like getting this done
