I started writing a haiku a day in July 2011 as a journaling project - a creative challenge that would also chronicle the ordinary moments of life. It has been a great discipline for encouraging me to think about the aspect of each day that stands out, and how to craft that into three lines of five, seven and five syllables.
July 18 - A Night When Being In The Midst Of Other People's Friends Brings Home The Fact That I Don't Really Have People Like This In My Own Life Outside Of Family
Kim has a party
I eat too much and stay late
Missing my loner
