I started writing a haiku a day in July 2011 as a journaling project - a creative challenge that would also chronicle the ordinary moments of life. It has been a great discipline for encouraging me to think about the aspect of each day that stands out, and how to craft that into three lines of five, seven and five syllables.
July 27 - When The End Of A Housesit Coincides With A Trip Up-Island And An Agreed-Upon Extra Day At Work That Seemed Like A Perfectly Good Idea At The Time
Gone from the huge house
Car packed with all that I own
Hot work day, hotter drive
