I started writing a haiku a day in July 2011 as a journaling project - a creative challenge that would also chronicle the ordinary moments of life. It has been a great discipline for encouraging me to think about the aspect of each day that stands out, and how to craft that into three lines of five, seven and five syllables.
Sept 10 - Morning Hike To The Gorgeous Paynes Prairie Preservation Area, Where We Survive The Heat And Humidity Just Fine Despite Forgetting To Bring Water Yet Again
Gator and bird walk
We lunch in the heat; I sweat
but Cerys just sleeps
