I started writing a haiku a day in July 2011 as a journaling project - a creative challenge that would also chronicle the ordinary moments of life. It has been a great discipline for encouraging me to think about the aspect of each day that stands out, and how to craft that into three lines of five, seven and five syllables.
Sept 16 - In Which I Buy A Play Tent And A Sweet Little Rocking Horse, Rent A Fish-Decorated Stroller, And Walk Austin In The Near-Dark Through Saxe Point
Move to Toni's house
Then a long shop with Wild Child
I buy her a tent
