I started writing a haiku a day in July 2011 as a journaling project - a creative challenge that would also chronicle the ordinary moments of life. It has been a great discipline for encouraging me to think about the aspect of each day that stands out, and how to craft that into three lines of five, seven and five syllables.
July 16 - In Which I Do A Favour For A Cousin Who Wants To Go For Lunch At A Winery And A Son-In-Law Who Wants To Do Chores, All Of Which Serves To Keep Me On Task
Three kids to care for
Luckily, they're sweet and good
We feed the horse grass
