I started writing a haiku a day in July 2011 as a journaling project - a creative challenge that would also chronicle the ordinary moments of life. It has been a great discipline for encouraging me to think about the aspect of each day that stands out, and how to craft that into three lines of five, seven and five syllables.
Feb 12 - In Which I Try Pumpkin Hill Road On My Own And Am Claimed By An Enormous Puddle, Plus Made Nervous By All The Private-Property Signs Threatening That Traps Have Been Laid
This mud won't stop me!
Or maybe it will; I slip
